Music and Worship ministry

We have so many ways you can be involved!

Worship Choir

It has been said that the heartbeat of the church, their spirit and personality, is revealed in its worship. Dead, declining, and spirit-less churches all have 3 things in common … they have dead, declining, and spirit-less worship.

Worship Choir members are entrusted with the heart of the church. They have the awesome responsibility of leading the church family to worship Almighty God. There is no audition required. We have choir members that are just singing for the first time, all the way up to those with graduate degrees in music! There is a place for everyone. Come and join us in praise to the Lord!

The Worship Choir leads most every week at the 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:00 AM services and participates in special presentations throughout the year.

Wednesday rehearsals are from 6:30-8:00 PM in the Choir Room.

For more information, contact the Worship Ministry at 469-698-2501 or email Trent.

Worship Orchestra

On Sunday mornings, the orchestra generally leads in worship every other week.

Wednesday evening rehearsals are from 8:10-9:00 PM in the Worship Center.

It is a big commitment, since the group plays for all three services. However, the orchestra has experienced tremendous growth, especially in the last two years. Guests and new members are always welcome! Please join us.

For more information, contact the Worship Ministry at 469-698-2501 or email Trent.

Vocal Team

The Vocal Team often leads out in worship during our morning services. The group consists of auditioned members of the Worship Choir who are on a rotation and scheduled through the worship ministry office. Each vocal team member should be a confident singer who can hold their own part, as well as an engaged worshipper who helps others encounter the presence of Jesus!

KIDS CHOIRS

Choirs/musical activities for children are offered in conjunction with Boys and Girls Mission Organizations during the school year for 4 year olds through 6th graders on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 PM.

STUDENT MUSIC PROJECTS

Periodically, we will put a musical group of students (grades 7-12) together to participate in a short term mission trip or project.  We have ministered in places like Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN. The students have worked with and sung in homeless shelters, churches, and prisons, and shared in all kinds of public spaces.  In 2022, the group participated in a student worship arts camp in Arkansas. New projects will be advertised through the FBC Student Ministry.

SENIOR CHOIR (FIRST FAMILY SINGERS)

The First Family Singers is actually one of our most active choirs outside the church walls. This group of singers, 55+ years of age, ministers in health care facilities and joins each year with other community senior choirs to form the Celebration Singers, participating in concerts all over the metroplex. The choir has previously served as the conference choir for the “Day to Remember” conference and the “Hilltop U” senior conference at East Texas Baptist University. The First Family Singers meet in the choir room Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM for rehearsal during the school year.
